Hi there, i'm planning to buy myself a gti6 over the next couple of months, i have had a string of 14 306's, dt's, xsi's, s16's and a brief encounter with a 2.0 turbo converted 306. Thing is i am well aware of all the usual faults with these cars, but as i have never owned a 6 i'm not sure what the best service items to buy, mainly the timing belt kit. I have heard so many horror stories about belts breaking even when recently renewed.
What is the best belt kit to get 136/137? best oils/filters? Lastly, why are the 6 engines so bad for belt breakages?
I would greatly appreciate any help / advice. Cheers.
