Hey all.. this is more of a continuation of the thread I have running over in the Engine section called "Power Loss?" so for a more detailed description of my problem it may be worth looking there first.. but..

I am experiencing a loss of power that has all the symptoms of a worn clutch except for the burning smell and the obvious sound/feel of the clutch slipping. What I mean by that is, the engine rev's up freely, smoothly and quickly but it feels reluctant to put its power down to the wheels? Also, my biting point is right at the top of the pedal?

Has anyone else experienced this?

do the revs rise very easily especially in 4th and 5th from low revs but it doesn't accelerate?

ok on my way home from work this morning, at low speed and going up a slight incline, i shifted to 4th and floored it and it damn near stalled on me... so safe to say my problem is not clutch related?

Thanks for the input mate but its nothing to do with ICV, idle is absolutely spot on and its not cutting out.. my problem is power loss to to the wheels and I thought it was becuase my clutch was slipping... but evidently if the revs drop right out to almost stalling when I floor it in a high gear at low speed, well it cant be the clutch, so good news there me thinks Smile

Won't be an ICV problem as the throttle is open anyway...

Sounds more like fuel starvation.

Did you try a new map sensor? Mine had the same issue but once I had cleaned the map sensor the problem was no more...

Yer I've got a MAP sensor on order.. cleaning it doesn't seem to have done much other than give a noticable difference for about 2 miles. In my other thread about this in the engines section I was saying how I seem to be getting alot of oil breathing back into the inlet when she's warmed up, so I've got a catch tank and new MAP sensor to fit.. hopefully solve the problem Smile
