Hi ive recently brought a w plate gti6 which had been parked in a garage for 5ish months, when i picked it up it was fine and for a few days after. But ive noticed for a couple of days now white smoke i know you get this when its damp out but usually clears in 5mins. But mines still smoking for a long time after but if i trash it stops then park it up for a short while and its doing it again. Ive checked oil its like new no mayo in cap either. And the water is fine nice and clear and the level has not moved. Any ideas or help? thanks

Hiya mate,

This does not sound good! It does sound suspiciously as though the engine is burning water - suggesting a breach in the head gasket or worse, bur unlikely, crack in the cylider head or block. Best to get it block tested, a good garage should be able to this for you. It's just a test to see if there are any exhaust gases in the coolant - takes 5 mins.

I hope it works out mate.
