Since the demise of my rallye i have been pottering around in my HDI. But the abs light has started to come on, I have done all the usual checks to the braking system to find nothing wrong with it,When the light is on the abs still works fine. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it ?????

Cheers phil

Yes checked all sensors they are behaving as they should do, Ive put brakes on hard when the light is lit and the abs kicks in as it should. I have tested sensors and all are working fine, The only thing left to do now is a fault read on them.

Check the brake pad wear cable that runs from the pad to a plug somewhere on the brake housing. It is a simple circuit that completes when a metal pad in the brake pad makes contact with the brake disc and gives you a warning light when pads get near to replacement. You can get a false earth because the cable insulation has been cut or worn through and is making contact with the inside of the wheel rim, or another metal part of the suspension.
