hi all my name is jay and im new to the site... i occasionaly drive my mrs daily car a white p plate gti 6 as i drive a impreza sti import daily... just bought it last week and the speedo doesnt work..twice it has worked but as soon as it gets to 20-25mph its gone off now it off for good. ive tried removing the grey fuse for 24 hours still didnt work. disconected the speedo sensor and made sure all was connected correct and stil no joy and cleaned the earth up... it has a after market filter and the wiring seems to be ok around that area... am i right in belivng that the sensor is gone or could it be something else??? any help much appreciatedthanks jay |

You could try the connection to the back of the clocks. Other than that I guess the sensor is fubared________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. It said if you don't want to end up in here, stay away from crime, women and drugs. Trouble is, that don't leave you much else to do, does it? |

Other than that I guess the sensor is fubared hi mate thanks for the reply, i forgot to mention ive had the clocks out as i hadnt realised these were electronic based speedometer cause was going to check to make sure cable was in ok but it wasnt there!! ... ill take the sensor out 2moro to check it and t make sure i get the correct one thanks jay |

put a new sensor on today worked fine and car ran mint... stopped at a friends went back out got in drove it and guess what speedo not working again and running poo again......any ideas |

done 18 straight mile and speedo worked stopped at lights for 5 mins and got up to 30 mph and it went of again... did this yesterday also..could it be the wiring from sensor to the 1st connection block..possible short??breaking down with the heat?? dirty connection?? |
