hi got a problem with my electric windows and with my central locking im sure they are related, from the start, both where working fine (the locking on the foand the windows on all buttons and all doors UNTILL it went for mot it passed and we headed home went to close the drivers window which the garage had opened because they do,nothing happend i suspected a fuse, it wasent. so now my suspicion moves on to the small electrical box in the drivers door(which contains a printed circuit board) which clicks when i attempt to open/close the drivers window. does anyone know exactly what this box does and is called as i assume it controls the windows, and maybe the central locking as there is no response from either the fob or the lock. any help would be much appreciated, many thanks in advance andy |

You need to check the loom between the driver door. Cut open the rubber cover and see if any of the wires are broken and if so repair with solder and heat shrink.http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=50366&page=1 |

Yes if the wires that control the windows are broken then your windows won't work as for fixing the wires all you need to do is join the wires back up to the right colors and your windows and c/l will be fine. |

Under the rubber cover will be a bunch of coloured wires just look through them and repair the ones that are snapped. simple as that |
