My bro has a problem with his 406 not starting some times

its the 2.0 GLX on an R plate.

"Car turns over fails to start.
15pin multi-relay by the ecu buzzes upon a failed start.
Fuel pump only starts once the ignition/injection warning light comes on - often it'll start when this happens.
No ecu fault codes found (2 garages).
I think it's the immob pick-up coil or the immob its self that faulty.... See more
sometimes it'll just cut out for a second when driving down the road."

any ideas?

sounds like youre on the right line Jim, the engine management light only comes on if the ecu is powered up, it wont be if the immobiliser is playing up.

if the immobiliser drops out for any reason that could cause it to cut power to the ecu, often the relays too.
