Hi, Bit of a strange one...Anyone have any ideas?

Changed the gearbox on the Astor today for a good one (so I was told) I brought a while back. Put the new box on and all the linkages/cables/shafts etc with nowt missed (triple checked Roll eyes )

Started the car, put into gear and Nothing! Shock All gears do nothing with or without the clutch pressed. Its like I forgot to put the driveshafts in...which I did!

Can only think that either the box is knackered (broke) or the clutch fork did not slot into place, but thought i'd still get drive??? Clutch feels very light and 'springy' compared to before

Any ideas???

Ad.

Doh

Sorry missed that.

Does indeed sound like the forks not engaged properly.

it would still get drive if fork is not done properly, unless fork has jammed the clutch open, does the arm have some slack?

Definately sounds like the Clutch fork not engaged properly when you put the box back on. You can pull the box away from the engine slightly to manouver it without having the drop the box fully.
