Hi guys,Just went to change my sparkplugs over and I cant turn them at all. Im using a proper sparkplug socket on them, trying to turn them anticlockwise but not having any luck. Any advice? ________________________________________ Cherry Red Rallye - 179.1bhp@fly, 148.4bhp@wheels |

As he said, do when red hot also if very stuck spray a small ammount of release oil or wd40 etc down each plug hole but not a lot as you dont want it going into the cylinders much when removed. Leave to soak for a bit and then crack them off. I had real trouble with mine when i first got the car they hadnt been changed in ages and were clearly overtightened. I thought i was going to snap them to be honest but they did budge eventually.When you fit the new ones only turn until you feel some resistance as the crush washer gets squished then stop. ________________________________________ Black power baby! are they all the same? if not it could be a sign they have been cross threaded when put back in last time.only need to be 25ft-lbs, which is nothing really! |

I did mine yesterday  they were quite tight, even though I used a breaker bar to undo them - still had to lean on it a bit! don't be a pussy about it! |

Are you jut using a "T" bar type thing with a flexi head on? If so get a ratchet on there with an extension. Get a proper 16mm spark plug socket with a rubber insert, and a 10" extender bar WITH LOCKING BALL fitting otherwise the spark plug socket pulls off the bar and gets stuck in the hole. |

I did mine the other day as i was getting poor mpg. Used my 20 inch torque wrench as a breaker bar, and they came out ok. Fitted and tightened using a proper spark plug wrench. Now just got a very cool 110 miles from |

I didnt have an allen key and the back left bolt was a bit rounded. Even little things like this though, its nice to do it yourself, when some people pay a garage to do it. |
