Just a quick question, where does the connector for the bitron unit come from? Does it join with the main engine loom directly? I have done a search and couldn't find what I wanted, I have just put an XU10 into my XU7 w/o aircon shell and so had no external fan controller before and can't find anywhere on the loom to connect the bitron from the donor, hope that made some sense to someone!

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's on the main loom that goes under the radiator and up the side (after the engine loom connectors) it carries on upwards into the wing and that's where its all wired to but it's been a while since I had the bumper off and was messing about with the loom on mine.

Ok so it should be coming off my loom but isn't? What does the rallye run as it has no AC, still a bitron unit? Anyone know how to get my fans working ? Unsure

Can you not hard wire them in with a switch. Then you can put the fans when ever you like.

I wouldn't bother with a switch.

which fans and rad have you used?

the rallye is a non-a/c setup which uses a thermoswith in the rad, should be the same as your 1.8 in that respect.

Its totally separate to the engine loom however so you wont have any issues with it being a gti6 engine loom.
