Bad knocking from the rear when going over bumps and braking. Im assuming its the rear beam mounts, the rear mounts seem ok, but the front ones may well be knackered.

Ive refurbed a 205 Gti rear beam before and there were only bearings etc inside the beam itself, is it the same on the 306 beams?

Trying to narrow down the options before i start taking the mounts off.

Cheers, Dave

you can't really tell till you take the mounts off if they needed replacing, and in many cases ones that have worn enough to cause knocking often don't look worn at all once off Doh

the trailing arm bearings are exactly the same as a 205 and dont tend to cause any knocking noises when they wear badly.

I'd budget in

Cheers for the replies. Refurbing the 205 beam really wasnt enjoyable, so i will just change the bushes for now. LOL

Is it possible to swap the mounts without removing the beam from the car? Or atleast just lowering the beam enough to get access?

I just replaced the brake pipes for its last MOT and rather not disconnect them unless i have to.

Cheers again.

wont need to disconnect the lines, just unclip them from the boot floor, I managed to do mine on my own in an hour and a half odd, just drop it down enough to get at them Smile
