Right im going to crack on with this tomorrow i think, anything i need to watch out for with fitting it? will i have to drain any oil out of the car to start with??

also im using a 16 row mocal cooler, how much more oil will this take to fill up?

i think you will need up to a litre extra oil Yes

and you wont need to drain oil , as engine is switched off.

just got to replace what you loose from oil filter plus around 1 litre for oil cooler.

fit,start, let run, switch off ,check oil add acordingly

before you start it disconnect the Double relay to prevent it from firing and crank it over till the oil pressure light goes out.

If you start it without doing so you wont get any oil to the bearings till the filter and oil cooler fill up.

f*ck me a litre of oil thats 13quids worth!!

cheers welsh pug, that did sort of ocurr to me that there would be no oil in it, where about is this double relay??

royal purple racing 51 or xpr 51 as think its now called, its what Rich told me to use since i ran a set of shells an goosed an engine!!

anyway this job is on hold as im going to be hooring it round knockhill tomorrow last min track time get in!! best get to bed as up early but cant sleep as buzzing, thank f*ck theres only 1 or 2 track days a month!! or id have no sleep!!

Go very careful when doing up the fittings on the cooler, the outlets are ally and you can split the cone fittings or break the solder connection to the cooler very easily if you dont support the fitting with two spanners as you do it up. Problem is the nuts are massive but they only really need a gentle nip to seal properly.

i know jic fittings as this what we use at work on high pressure testing, they only need nipped then ¼ turn normaly thats the rule of thumb
