Is the little ashtray light then a switched live? Would it be ok for running power to a boost gauge?

Cheers

i'd try looking in the fuse box if there is a spare or just test for a switched live

The cig lighter can be either switched or always on depending on the position of the fuse in the fuse box. Info here.

smegal i pulled the actuall bulb and wiring out of it, so cig lighter still works but when lights are on no light at it but at boost gauge, been like that few months and no problems.

Used the cig lighter in the end, dont let people smoke in the car and dont charge anything so just ditched it and attached the gauge. Switched the fuse (cheers Smegal) and now works perfectly when the car starts up, top job done Smile

If you wanted to you could just piggyback off the cig lighter and put it back in. Where did you get your gague from? I'm thinking of getting one for mine.

How easy is it to look at when you're driving along though?

Easier than i thought, its like looking at the track number on the stereo Yes

Its only use is to check there is no boost leak and to make sure you are running the correct boost, apart from that it does look damn cool as it shoots around Ninja

Havent quite finished the install yet, gonna get some carbon fibre sheet to use for a surround Yes
