5 speed box wont improve acceleration, staying 6 speed and increasing the power will.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I think its the 1.6 205 gti box that is supposed to be the one to have.I love the 6 speed though, and will be keeping it unless i have problems when my N/A build is done, hoping for 220+ bhp and 185+ ft lb so its not going to be mega power. Be better off with the lightest drive train you can have, ie, lightest alloys, bells and rotors, lightened flywheel, eng pullies etc. Loosing as much weight as poss from the car, poly windows, skinned bootlid, doors, bonnet. That will give you gains everywhere, not just acceleration. The only thing i wish is that 1st was longer in the 6 box. |

Nah 1.9 box with an Mi16 final drive is the best bet. You might need a raised rev limit though on some tracks. BE3 rather than BE1, not sure if either fit though. Should be lighter than the 6 speed too.Tyres are a good place to save weight ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

yeah, if youre looking elsewhere bar the typical Xsara VTS route then you can gain a few little bits with a hybrid box, a 1.9 205 box on a 4.4 final drive from an Mi16 or xsara vts will do very nicely like adam said (use the 306 or xsara diff whatever you do though, the left hand side is a little different, or a LDS of course)that'll give nearly exactly the same result as a 1.6 box without a massive gap from 1st to 2nd. you wont want to use it on the motorway at all though definitely concentrate on other areas firstly, as the 6 speed unit suits the engine very well. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

as said, The 1.9 or 1.6 205 GTi box with a 4.4 is the cheapest ideal box and it's what I;ve got on mine until I find a 4.8 at a fair price but I do have a 8500rpm Rev limitBoth Late BE1 which has a lift reverse will fit, The early ones didn;t have the TDC Sensor hole, All BE3's will fit as well ________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |
