IIRC it was the EW's and not the XU's that were fitted to the coupe. The saloons had the XU10J4R. No idea on the inter-compatibility of the XU's and EW's, but at a guess I'd say it's harder to go from EW to XU because of the angle difference, though if it's big enough for a factory fit V6, it's big enough for an XU!________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Cool, i hadnt thought of the angle issue Just wondering if a high boost engine might be better suited in a coupe, although it would probably be better charging the V6. ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

there's a normal 2.0 coupe with the 16v xsi engine in [xu10j4r]. slownessyou could just buy the 2.0 one and bang the gti6 engine in it, some v6 4pots or something.. bit boring though. what about a berlingo van with a charged six engine that'll be what route i go down when i get bored of 306's ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

the early 2.0 coupes used the XU10J4R. Walking was faster tbh but it would make for an easy transplant. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |
