whenever i turn left, i get a knocking noise coming from the driver side bonnet area, only when i turn leftthough, any ideas?

snapped spring? mine stared doing this, turned out to be the spring.

no the springs are all fine, i had the bumper and wheels off over the weekend, they looked fine, handles fine, etc. not sure if its a bush or something, im the most un car minded.

Top mount maybe, had the problem on my old car and it turned out to be that.

I had what sounds like the exact same problem on mine. Turned out to be shagged o/s top mount.

Top mount is the big rubber bit at the top of the suspension, it has a bearing in it and they can fail.

Its more promenent when doing it at low speeds, like turning into a carparking space for example.
