Hi just a quick question,

When the fuel light comes on on the GTi-6, roughly how many miles are left in the tank before you run out?

I've looked everywhere for an answer.

Any ideas anyone?

No, it doesn't: you base the calculations on the volume of fuel burnt at the next fill up, not the amount left before you re-fuel.

I seem to get about 30 to 40 miles before the needle bends around the bottom of the guage and I chicken out!
I think the light is supposed to relate to a certain number of litres left in the tank, according to the Peugeot handbook IIRC.

If the light goes on, I put fuel in. I don't like running it low. There might be shit in the bottom of the tank.

It's supposed to come on when there 5.5 litres left isn't it? I've managed nearly 50 miles before chickening out. Either way how far you get depends on how big your balls areYes Laugh my ass off

The pump lifts the fuel from the bottom anyway. If there was shit in it, it would be the first to be taken up - hence a fuel filter.

Yeah just seen in the handbook that came with my car: 1.3 gallons or 6 litres approximately. So 50 miles is doing really well considering the possible MPG figures availabe from a 6!

That an dht efact the fuel pick up has a strainer mesh on it anyway.

I've managed 70 miles with my HDi and having seen the car swallow 66.5 litres I know there was no more than 1l left in it! Some of you guys are pushing it!

Obviously depends on the style of driving, I've pushed my luck on the motorway before, but gentle cruising uses a lot let fuel.
