Hey guys, took the rallye for a good run today.

It has standard fluid and lines as i haven't fitted my braided ones yet. It has Brembo plain discs and Mintex1155s done about 50 miles with them on now.

Basically the pedal feels terrible, very spongy and no real bite at all, and they also seem to of over heated big time on a brisk drive, (by no means slamming on) cause they smelt like cooked brakes and litrally didn't work at all!!

Any suggestions on why ? they seem to bite quite well when cold but as soon as there is any heat they die off, even though there super high temp pads..

Cheers Rob

if they have only done 50 miles then there is your answer, give it chance to bed in.

Get them bedded in correctly.
Did you clean the protective coating off the disks?

Discs are usually treated with an oily anti-corrosion compound which you need to wipe off with white spirit and a rag before you put them on the car.

Then the pads need bedding in. When was your fluid last changed?

Yeah when new all disks have an anti corrosive coating on them.
I always clean both faces of the disk up with brake cleaner to remove it.

Fluid hasn't been changed for about 3 years 25,000 miles probably..

That's not going to help then since fluid is usually recommended every 2 years...

Not worth it now if you've driven the car. Not every disc is treated as some just come in wax paper.
