My filters mounted practically on the floor. I keep bricking it because theres loads of standing water around at the mo' sometimes its unavoidable with streams running accross the entire width of the road so keep having to knock it into neutral and just slowly coast down the road to prevent water being sucked in.

Spent the last few hours searching the forum to try and find the best compromise between a safe setup in terms of water and heat soak issues. I'm thinking of just raising the K&N higher off the ground, just wondered if any one knows how high is safe? Also thinking that when I do this I might buy a spare rallye blank if i can get hold of one and modify it like this:

to improve cold air flow. Will this make a difference?

Cheers guys!

Mine has been on the end of the standard downpipe for a few years with no issue. By the way being in neutral won't help much if you get the filter under water - it will still suck in the water and bugger the engine.

For normal to biggish puddles the standard ken position is fine but if you find the road flooded to a depth of 12 inches round a blind corner then you will be f*cked. I'll post some pictures of the conrods once we get it apart and tip the water out LOL
