Do the revs bounce up and down from 1k to 1.5k in stead of steadly idling at 950 ? If so your idle motors buggered... join the club - cleaning them can on rare occassions help for a week or two and switching the ignition off for ten seconds then starting the engine on again will normally reset the idle motor meaning it will behave itself for the remainder of your journey ________________________________________ Cad Monkey will work for chocolate biscuits....I'm not kidding |

the revs go from 950 to 2000 up and down sometimes the car will stop then you restart and it will be fine for a bit then do it again, im finding that if you start it up without touching the throttle it will be fine but as soon as i rev it it will start doing it it doesnt stall all the time.if im for instance in first gear and drive along without touching the throttle it doesnt do it then which is strange . ________________________________________ M Peppard |

could be an idle control valve, mine was doing the same, reving eraticaly up to about 1500rpm, replaced it with a spare one my mate gave me, and its sound, its a black plastic plug located on the top of the inlet manifold, just on top of the throttle body... simples.________________________________________ denwar |

My bet is the idle control valve, mine was doing the same while back, so brought a new one from pug at 105 quid lol, but sorted it out. Also I would say give all plugs a clean on the throttle body area, could just be a bad earth.________________________________________ Ph2 Black GTI6Ph3 China GTI6 206 xsi manstone daily runner (GAY) Ph1 Cherry Red GTI6 307 HDi 110 |
