My key fob doesnt work on my gti as its eating batteries so now i have to use the key in the lock to open it.

The problem im having is that it only unlocks the one door and not the rest of the car which is pain in the bum as i have to put the seats down to get in the boot as the key wont work in the boot lock either

Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Dan

When the key is used in the door, the central locking should still unlock the other door and tailgate.

Does neither door activate the central locking?

Had a problem like that with a renault i once had, it was a problem with key thobs just due to age and constant use and 'static' as renault said from being in your pocket!. Ended up not sending the right signals thru to unlock and caining the batteries so had to have 2 new ones direct from france!

Best bet would be an Autolec dude.
