Ive got a Phase 2 GTI-6 and the wipers started behaving strangely the other day - to start with they wouldnt work on intermittent, then not on slow, and then yesterday they packed up totally - the wipers got stuck in the middle of the screen and wouldnt move on any speed.

Ive cleaned the plug on the motor and its made no difference and I can hear the switches in the indicator stalk so I doubt its that, which leads me to think its relays.

The beauty of having two cars that are the same is that you can try bits from one to find the problem on the other, but when I looked under the dash on my Phase 1 last night, there are holes for the purple relays, but no relays. Are they somewhere else on a Phase 1??

EDIT: Also, are XSI relays the same?? I can get some off a mates breaker if so

Ill see what my mates XSI uses then - I want to be sure its the relays and not the motor (although I could probably nick that off him too)
