as above, i had mine done just over a year ago. the car feels loose as f*ck at the front and was wondering how to go about solving the problem. i know they wear out quick but it seems daft they wouldn't last more than a few thousand miles.________________________________________ Never underestimate the power of De-Nile.Friday afternoon car, built in France.... 306gti6.com Stickers available, pm me for details. or email MjStones83@hotmail.com Sticker Thread with pics |

depends on the roads you drive on, driving style, mileage, ride height to a certain extent, also quality of the bush material.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

the roads are terrible, driving style is worse, avg/high miles and lowered 30mm. i'm gonna go and assume that carl fitted decent bushes, how long before they went? the pulling/grinding/knocking is really bugging me!________________________________________ Never underestimate the power of De-Nile.Friday afternoon car, built in France.... 306gti6.com Stickers available, pm me for details. or email MjStones83@hotmail.com Sticker Thread with pics |

Have you actually looked to see if they're worn out? Your post doesn't really seem to suggest that you've looked at them.I'm still on my originals at nearly 200K but they're not exactly in A1 condition. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

no i haven't looked i was just wondering cos someone suggested it could be a cause for my loose arse steering. it feels like its pushing one way then all of a sudden it'll go loose then push the other way, like the wheels and steering is made of string. between that and the constant quiet knocking/grinding it's p*ssing me right off.________________________________________ Never underestimate the power of De-Nile.Friday afternoon car, built in France.... 306gti6.com Stickers available, pm me for details. or email MjStones83@hotmail.com Sticker Thread with pics |

not touched your rear beam as of late have you?My car was awful to drive and felt loose, twitchy, any which way it wanted to go. I'd only gone and left all the beam bolts in the boot floor finger tight lol. Realised on the way to work heh. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

the rear beam just had the bushes done, but it was wandery and shit before that. that's whyi changed the bushes and mounts on the rear cos it's had new top mounts shocks and droplinks on the front last week. no difference. still steers by itself just the same.________________________________________ Never underestimate the power of De-Nile.Friday afternoon car, built in France.... 306gti6.com Stickers available, pm me for details. or email MjStones83@hotmail.com Sticker Thread with pics |

quote: I'm still on my originals at nearly 200K but they're not exactly in A1 condition. Might be a good idea to get them renewed as the rubber would not be in the best of condition after that length of time. I would normally get about 7-10k out of the p bushes but i could be driving on any surface any day of the week and i usually change them twice or three time's a year. Check your tie rod as this would give a very loose feeling to the steering if it was in bad condition and would give a knocking noise. |

My P Bushes on the GTi-6 lasted 115k. They passed the previous MOT before that (at 95k) without fault. I went for geniune arms again.________________________________________ Ex Owner of 2000 Phase 3 306 GTi 6 China Blue - You shall be missed1974 Triumph Stag 1989 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6 2003 Alfa Romeo 147 JTD Lusso 2005 Mondeo Ghia X 3.0 Estate LPG |

Oh yeah mine are pretty fcuked, to the point where I wonder how they managed to pass MOT last time. I'll do them when the weather warms up a bit as i've seen how bad they are.________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

The bushes usually last a long time (depending on road surface's etc) and pass the mot even though they are usually past there best, and once you re-new them you will notice a good difference, obviously depends on how much they are worn in the first place. If the 306 gti6 is lowered then they tend not to last very long at all compared to the original suspension set up. If you are lowering your car in the future may I suggest to buy some of Rich W's uprated bush's, do a search for them.. ________________________________________ Pug fee`ver,Pick a Bogey, buy a Pug.
