Hey there, this is my first post, I'm new to the forums and I'm looking for a little help here.

After finding a great post on how to remove the instrument panel I looked about on the forums and found some really helpful stuff, and got the impression this was the community for me.

Recently bought my first car, a N-Reg 306 XN, pretty good car and I've had little complaints with it so far, however I'm sans Rev Counter, without a Tachometer, missing something you see.

Basically what I'm looking to find out is how complicated it would be to put in a new instrument panel, one with a rev counter, and hook it all up? At the minute I have a huge analog clock where the rev counter would be, which I must admit I hate the look of.
I'm heading off to a scrapies soon (hopefully) which will be my first place to look for a new one, so if there's anything I should look out for please do tell.

I haven't taken the instrument panel off yet, so I'm sorry I can't provide any photos *as I assume they would help somewhat*, however I'm going to be replacing my steering wheel, as soon as my boss kit arrives, so if there is anything I need to look out for, or if it's easier to supply photos, the opportunity should come up.
Also on that note, I was also considering wiring my horn (on the indicator stalk) to the centre horn on my new steering wheel. Bit of a long shot without photos but does anyone have any information on how easy/difficult this would be?

Many thanks to anyone who can help.
