I've been having a problem over the last week or so with what I thought was a bad battery as my car refused to start one day after being in town. I got a bump start and it ran fine after that. Next time it did the same thing, all the lights and fuel pump comes on etc but it sluggishly turns over and doesn't come anywhere near firing.

The wierd thing is it will be jump started and a new battery has changed nothing so I'm at a loss, could it be a bad earth causing problems with power flow to the starter motor?

There should be a strap to the chassis and then straps to the engine and gearbox, I think as I cannot find a diagram on Service Box.

I've had a look and since mine is running an Emerald ECU with the battery in the boot things have been f*cked all over the shop. Anyway, talking to some learned friends of mine they reckon it could be the starter motor is dying, but it's fairly easy to replace. Is this true?
