while changing the coil spring this afternoon we pushed the hub down a bit too much and now there is a small oil leak coming from the driveshaft/gearbox boot. will i now have to change the oil seal if there is one? or can i just re-clip the boot in place.

done a 'search' but failed miserably.

thanks

You have most likely damaged the oil seal while changing the coil spring most probable cause is the hub carrier swiveled out to far and the splined part of the driveshaft came into contact with the seal and damaged it. Thats what happened to me when I replaced my front dampers.

Oil seals are pennies but you going to have to remove the drive shaft compltely. Make sure when refitting the driveshaft you insert it carefully into the gearbox without the splines rubbing onto the driveshaft oil seal.

just push it back in, usually just fine apart from needing to top up the oil level.
