I have got this problem with me car, When I have my clutch down, the car still creeps forwards and is hard to get in or out of gears. However, it seems to only happen when you use the gears a lot, like on a spirited drive down country lanes for example.

I have had the clutch cable replaced, but it is still happening Angry What would be the next port of call? Gearbox or the clutch itself?

Thinking about it, your clutch arm could be bent and therefore not disengaging properly. I've never heard of it happening before but I supose these things are frenchSmile

+1 for the clutch

At a guess it adjusts itself when driving normally then when you hammer it it's out of alignment?

I've now had the clutch changed, and it is still having the same problems.

What could it be? Linkages? gearbox oil? clutch cable adjustment (as this is also new)?

The odd thing is it only does it once hot!? Confused

I'm stumped! And it's driving me nuts!Cry (sorry for the pun)

was it an o.e cable and is it clipped into the subframe securely?

only clutch cable adjustment can cause this, the inner cable effectively needs to get longer as the clutch wears, what it does in actual fact is shorten the outer on a ratchet, however if the ratchet does not hold well enough it will not disengage the clutch.

I think it was an OE cable used.

So I can adjust the clutch cable and everything will be a-ok? Or do they self adjust?

its a self adjust cable, or should do if it works, which it doesn't sound like it is!


o.e means they bought it from peugeot BTW...

A few members have had this and it turns out to be a rivet on the clutch pressure plate failing.

Tonight it played up. I accelerated in first and then went to change gear and it was hard to come out of first and didn't want to go into any gear. The clutch biting point was lower when this happened also. Once I left it out of gear for a while it would then go into a gear. Very strangeCrazy

We're going to change the clutch arm (i think) next to see if that makes a difference. (It's the arm with a fork on the endWhistle)

Oh and the clutch cable was O.E. Smile
