So I drove home from work today (letting it idle for 2mins before pulling off) drove home under 3k revs etc and when i parked up the top end sounded 'tappier' than usual, is this something i should worry about?

Monitor it and see how it goes?

Check your spark plugs are tight buddy this catches a lot of people out.

And listen to Injectors

It will just be as the weather is cold the oil will be thicker and take longer to warm up, this meaning thinning Down and getting to all the areas such as the litters

Okay Seem's I'm a total noob and the tapping wasnt engine related what so ever and rather something behind the glove box? (perhaps the matrix?) something to do with heating atleast as i turnt the engine off, put the ignition back on and the noise was still there without the engine running! any idea why it'd make this noise kind of like a rattling / ticking noise? even when blowers are off, although the noise changes when there put on?

bearings in the blower motor? mine make a kind of a tapping/strange sound on some levels of the heater blower?

Mine does this too - it is the heater blower fan. Normally, it's set to Auto, so it's spinning round quite fast, but if I turn it to "Off", it just seems to go to a minimum speed but not stop completely.

Getting to it requires taking the dash out - there is an FAQ for it, but not a quick job I would imagine, and not for the faint-hearted either!
