Is there any reason i cant replace my clutch cable with a non self adjusting one? I can get a standard manually adjusting (screw thread on the clutch end) cable made up here for about half the price Peugeot wants to charge for the genuine article.
Im in NZ so dont have the easy access to parts suppliers like most of you do.
thanks

I don't see why not. I guess you'll just have to reset it when the pedal travel gets too long.

Hi
thanks for that, i think that may be the way I go.
Pug is a 306GTi 6, 1999 phase II i think, lowered slightly and on 17" wheels, no other mods apart from the tints, loves the twisty hilly NZ roads Happy

Send pugplus on here a PM. He's got loads of new Peugeot parts and might have a genuine clutch cable. He will probably be willing to post you one. Thumbs up

Aye from my experience go genuine.

I fitted a non-OEM one and it snapped after a WEEK. Peugeot ones are worth the extra money, but as mentioned it would be cheaper than

Dont need it to urgently, the auto adjuster has collapsed by the looks of things so ive tensioned everythign up and chucked a hose clamp on the cable it to tighten things up again and for the time being its working ok. I would prefer to go genuine if its affordable
