Guys can anyone tell me if i can get rid of all the cabling that runs under both front seats? (stripping for track car).

I think they are something to do with central locking/airbags/seatbelt pretensioners or something and obviously all this stuff is out the car already.

So would it be ok to remove all this bumf without cutting through something vital?

Many thanks.

Hi,

I have recently being doing this with my car and most of the wires can go. Just remember the rear lights and fuel pump. I traced each wire back to the dash/fuse box and used some wiring diagrams from the Haynes & AutoDataCD to get the least wire possible.

Took a while to do but looks a lot neater (and lighter) in the end;

IIRC all the wiring to the back of the car goes under the seats. So rear lights, wiper, heated screen, central locking control unit, fuel pump.
