Hey all, can anyone tell me where the thermostat is located and how simple it is to replace? also would a low running temp also mean the oil temps low? as oil temps around/below 70 and takes ages to warm it up? |

If the thermostats stuck open it will make the oil cooler/take longer to warm up.The thermostat is in the plastic housing on the end of the head on the right hand side of head as you look at it from front of car. Find your top radiator hose, follow that back to engine and your thermostats in there Hardest part of job could turn out to be bleeding the coolant system ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

If the thermostat has failed open, the car will take longer to warm up but should reach operating temp eventually.Thermostat is easily replaced, its in the housing to the side of the cylinder head on the nearside. THere are 3 colored sensors, brown, green, blue that are screwed into the housing. |

The'yre all water temp One for the fans, one for the ECU, one for the gauge. If you unplug the brown (fan) sensor, the fans should spin up as a failsafe. |

chrisd306 wrote: whats the brown sensor, water temp, as mine was plugged, now got 1 fitted It was plugged up because you have a Rallye and they don't use the brown temperature sensor IIRC the FAN switch is in the right hand side of the radiator on a Rallye The Brown sensor is for aircon cars that use the Bitron controlled dual fan setup. ________________________________________ GaryCherry Red GTi 6 |

Hey, got a thermostat delivered today but it didn't come with a rubber O ring seal ? where can i get one of these from other than pug as I'm sure it's that that's likely to have a split in any ways!On another not I haven't seen a pug stat yet as haven't taken mine out yet but are they meant to kind of look lopsided? if that makes sence, like not centred. |
