can anyone help please im trying to take of my crank pulley due to it falling to bits but i cant undo the friggin nut that holds it ive tryed a air gun and still no joy any ideas please.plus does it undo anti clockwise? many thanks |

have you got the flywheel locked with something, beacause if not you will never get it off, the engine will just turn over backwards which isnt advisable. And yes it undoes backwards |

is the flywheel the bit its conected to with the rubber inbetween coz if it is thats the bit thats fell of soz for sounding thick i just aint got a clue |

The flywheel is the large lump of metal at the other end of the engine, between the engine and the gearbox - what keeps your engine turning over.I got my pulley off by a mate standing on the brake whilst in gear - worked for me. Just use a long enough handle on the socket bar to get the leverage - should go with a bit of a crack, but it does go. (I've heard horror stories about fixing a long-handled socket to the bolt, jamming it into the floor then spinning the engine on the starter - not recommended!) |

Lock the flywheel and get a big bar/scaffold on it. |

foot on brake and in gear , when stan took mine off. |

So - In case I have this the wrong way around - the crank pulley bolt undoes by turning anti clockwise as a standard bolt. Is that right? |
