Had an engine change a few weeks ago in the 306. It developed a severe knocking noise soon after and now it does it all the time, even when the car is started.

It seems as though the lower engine mount has been destroyed whilst changing the engine. I've called the dealers and there are 2 lower engine mounts and I'm not sure which I need. It's a 1.8.

Can anybody help?

If your changing it yourself, save yourself loads of hassle and fit a Poewrflex one. No need for the drivshaft to come out or a press for fitting the new one (comes in two halves)

obviously there's labour on top of that, though you can make it a bit cheaper if you can get the mount off yourself and get a garage to sort it, or even less if you DIY Smile

I would do a DIY if I had a ramp and the small matter of having a clue what I'm doing! How hard of a job is it though? Don't want to be spending a daft amount on labour
