are the rods and pistons gti fitment? or s16, obviously by increasing stroke the pistons will sit 1mm higher than a stock 86mm stroke crank, i think the common way is to use s16 or mi16 2.0 rods and pistons, cos they sit 1mm lower than GTI pistons as stock.

they are the gti pistons and i do beleive that they will need machining on the top to get clearance

you'll need to machine more than just 1mm off the top edge if you want to retain the compression ratio at 8.0-1.

depends how much meat there is on them, you may not have enough there to keep it down.

everything should fit fine as far as I know regarding the crank.

2068cc is what you'll get on 86.5 bore x 88 stroke.

not so much that, but how much the dish needs making bigger.

should have a compression height and dish size quoted for them, might be on the box.

add the compression height to half the stroke (44mm) and the length of the conrods (158mm) and subtract that from the deck height of the block. (234.5mm IIRC)

then you have the chamber size and gasket voulme to take into account, plus the decreased dish depth due to the skim.

I'd speak to Rich or Wossner and see if what you have is suitable, I know the compression height of the 6 piston isnt that great so trying to take a mm off them might be asking too much.

i did send rich a pm a few months back he said the tops would need machining

i've also got to take in to account that the black has also been decked (not sure by how much though)

i'll have to read the box it see the figures for the pistons maybe im better off just sticking with the std crank
