My throttle pedal is quite stiff. Reading up on past posts it seems like it's worth lubricating the butterfly.

Is this the best thing to try or could be it be something else? And if so, where is it?

The cable could be frayed.

Is it difficult to swap the cable?

If you buy a new one, you could get away with just swapping over the inner wire and lubricate it.

Unhook the cable from the throttle body completly and feed 3n1 oil down the cable while working the inner in and out should free up a lightly clogged cable, if it doesn't free it up within a couple of minutes then hang it up on the underside of the bonnet to let it work its way down - you could also try throwing some on the pedal pivot but will be awkward.

As far as the butterfly goes if it has some baked on crude on the outer edge of the butterfly then it will drag through its movement - a scrub with carb cleaner will remove it Smile
