i got a gti 6 and the engine had a naughty tapping noise. it went to the garage today to get sorted and the tapping noise was due to a couple of loose spark plugs. i got all my old plugs replaced and now the car has stopped tapping. it also had a new clutch cable and feels spot on now im very happy lol. hope this helps |

Indeed can be down to loose spark plugs or noisey injectors or of course a bent value...________________________________________ Team ChinaTeam Pirelli Team Cracked Bumper 92k 20th Nov 1999 she was born |

If ever in any doubt do a compression test, the guages are fairly cheap or could be borrowed for a drink of many garages. It takes minutes to remove the coil pack cover then the four coil packs and spark plugs.________________________________________ Previous Peugeot - 2000(w)GTI-6, Me old China, Supercharged with working aircon! |

Sounds common, I've heard of this happen on another GTI-6, however I removed four and then replaced them the other night and think you would have to be a complete cretin to cross thread one!________________________________________ Previous Peugeot - 2000(w)GTI-6, Me old China, Supercharged with working aircon! |
