After reading on here about the tops mounts cracking causing a metallic creaking sound everytime i took my foot off the throttle, I stripped the mount and this is what i found underneath the square nut broke throught the body.

dont worry its a easy fix. just annoying , i fixed mine for the grand total of a fiver i think, helps loads when you have a friend with a welder Yes

also when you fix it , either make or buy some chocks! to wedge in either side.

have just had mine welded up with a 7mm thick plate with a captive nut on the reverse to accomodate solid mounts, worth doing

Oh don't worrie iv fixed it I'm a coachbuilder by trade so a large part of my day is welding. I just thought I'd share the pictures

quite common unfortunately Sad had this on most of the 306's i've owned at some point

Yeah i brought it off a bloke who owned it for 6 years then the owner before that had it from new, been replacing alot of parts and fixing some problems i'm really happy with her.

7mm!!?? Are you dropping a Rolls Royce Merlin engine in the bay by any chance? LOL
