hi guys started car this morning and after about 5 minutes the water temp gauge had reached maximum all the way on the red while driving. it usually hovers around 80c, oil temp was fine though at around 90oc. drove it home from work and again water temp shot up and car felt gutless i think ive screwed it by driving it around like this, iam taking it to a garage tommorow get it diagnosed (if it gets there) but does anyone know any possible causes? iam thinking jammed thermostat, water pump failure. thanks guys. |

^^ Told. But yes any one of the above is possible. Water level likely as it can distort the guage accuracy while running light without doing damage. Fingers crossed.________________________________________ Black X Reg PIII.VGTi 6 A4212 pt 1 A4212 pt 2 Searching the streets of Bristol for 1.36p/day.Joint Kent Leader |

yer checked water last sunday, i just got back from work its f*cking hammering it down with rain, cant be doing with it tonight, the rad was changed 20,000 miles ago, so yer basically i think if i can get it to garage tommorow without it completely dieing then bonus, to be honest i think ive caused some damage to engine, engine was a bit tired anyway, might just get new engine or rebuild, or maybe iam being all depressed and actually its ok, but iam tired and will deal with it tommorow. |
