took my 6 in for it's MOT last week, needed the brake bias valve sorting and the parking brake effiency was down to 9% drove to birmingham and back and on the way the handbrake light came on. didn't feel like a problem so i put it down to a dodgy sensor issue. was gonna take the car back in anyway but just now the brakes have gone. the pedal does nothing until it's pushed all the way to the bottom, hard. then there is some braking but really f*ck all. any ideas?________________________________________ Never underestimate the power of De-Nile.Friday afternoon car, built in France.... 306gti6.com Stickers available, pm me for details. or email MjStones83@hotmail.com Sticker Thread with pics |

When did you last change your fluid? Handbrake light, when your handbrake is not on, is pretty much universal for low fluid. when the fluid gets low, the chances are you bring air into the system, which also gives the symptoms of saggy brake pedal. If you quickly brake/release/brake does it bite near the top of the pedal, with more force than the initial application? My immediate advice would be to check the fluid level, pronto. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

Fluid level, you've got a split hose/nipple undone or the seals have gone in the master cylinder. Also check the vac line from the throttle body to the brake servo (big round thing) ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |
