Start by taking out the carpet and tracing any wires in the cabin that have a connector on the end that is'nt plugged into anything, follow it back to the dash and cut it. You will have to carefully insulate the cut ends or femove the fuses on any live circuits you make redundant.I got rid of loads of wires on mine and so have quite a few others on here.

Enjoy! Big grin

Chris did you just use the haynes guide for the wiring?

I dont have one yet but have heard they have good wiring diagrams, and I am wanting to strip some of mine but dont have a clue where to start really!

it isnt hard really, just very tedious doing it all properly

just trace back what isn't plugged in and make sure they aren't bridged earths or lives etc and controlling anything else and snip your way back to the plugs / start

see my project thread, i have loads of pics of the looms in there in bits. i've done the whole car and have an old black bin full of wire and plugs that are unused. comes in handy for rewiring things!

I just plugged everything in to the looms and cut off ewhat I didnt need, then took the wires out of the loom and cut them back as far as I could.
My advice is dont strip the looms of tape as will be a night mare. pull the wires one at a time an leave the loom in tact

+ 1

And double check everything before you cut it, I've managed to remove all the wiring for my rev counter, and I'm pretty sure I'll be wanting that...Dry

i found it much more reliable to remove everything completely and snip one wire at a time at each unused plug and follow it back through the loose wire. that way you could check properly it wasn't a linked wire

all back together now anyway so makes no odds. just very messy whichever way you do it i guess! don't think my engine loom will work when i put this spare 6cyl double vanos engine into it though LOL Whistle
