Hi i recently purchased my R reg 306 XSi from my bro-in-law. When i bought it he told me the dial within the rev counter is an alt guage (he knows nothing about cars at all!). I wanted to change the dials to white dials and as i was enquiring i got the impression that its an oil pressure gauge. Is this true? If it is do i have a reason to be worried? Even though the car drives and sounds as though its running perfectly, the gauge when the car is first started shoots to the max mark with a light above it but after about 20-30 secs drops to just above the 'off' mark, the light goes off then doesn't move after that at all. Is it something to sorry about or just a faulty gauge or sensor? Also my mechanic hates Peugeot's and said they are all a bag of crap and the gauge is not a pressure gauge but a temp gauge. If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it. Cheers!

IIRC it'll be oil temperature, only the Phase1 and S16 had an oil pressure gauge.
