Coming home earlier on and noticed the stop light was on, drove the 30 secs to my house and found that in addition to the stop light being on, the cooling fans at the front were on full with the engine on, and still stayed on for a while after the ignition was switched off, however when they are fully on there is a vibration that can be felt in the steering wheel.

The guages were all normal temperature and oil temp were all normal, not sure what is going on...

Anyone got any experience of this before naturally as it is a peugeot i'm assuming the worst!

Do a search on "bitron unit" mate, been covered a few times.
Had the same problem with mine, the pins and the unit were corroded together making the fans and stop light come on.

Makes sure the brown temperature sensor is still plugged in/ hasn't come lose as that will do as you describe or as idboo say it could be water/ corrosion in the bitron unit
