I have an intermittent leak of gearbox oil. I don't think it is the driveshaft seals as they have been changed recently and I can't see any oil around them.

from another thread:

Most likely culprits are the driveshaft seals and the selection arm seal.

Fix the leak and top the oil up and it will more than likely be fine, but if you keep running it while it's low on oil then you could damage it badly.

I felt around the box and i got oil on my fingers when I touched one of the selector arms so I think it may be this.

How hard is it to change the seals?

depends which selector it is, one is easy, the other is a fiddle, probably box off to replace them to make sure it all goes smoothly.

Is it possible to do it with the box on? I understand it may be fiddley but I don't really want the box off if I can help it.
