After being sold a set of dodgy callipers (A K Knight), I can't seem to be able to remove the spit dust seal.

I've removed the piston, but the seal seems to be tucked inside a sort of liner. Is this normal or should the seal come out with the piston.

How can I get it out???

Thanks
Graham

Lets see the pics. Presume you're talking fronts? Usually they just tuck into a lip in the bore.

If they are Brembos, you will have to carefully dig all of the rubber out from around the edge of the seal with a small pick or sharp screwdriver, just removed all 8 dust seals on Chris with a pug's new Brembos, takes a bit of patience but there is a steel rim moulded into the seal and it's quite a tight fit so you need to get out as much rubber as you can to make it easier to prise out the remainder of the seal, no way to fget them out without destrouyng that type I'm afraid.

Cheers for the advice lads. I just wasn't pulling on them hard enough as I didn't want to tear them but they're off now.

Thanks again
