My clocks showed 140 on the autobahn, after i achieved this feat a slowed back down as i didnt think it would be a wise idea to destroy the engine so far from home I was on 50 profiles at the time though so it could have been closer to 130 mph in reality. There was still a small amount of pull left in the engine but not much. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

i had 140mph at 6,600rpm in my s16 with standard box on cyclones, for the record it does 120 at 5,500rpm aswell, 50 series tyres very slight downslope but was pulling still i just bottled keeping it there for that long. Pulled at a good rate though i love 16 valves. Not to be for long though as i will be putting the 4.8 or 5.1cwp in it when i get my TB's. |

I have recorded a genuine 152mph (measured by Sat-Nav, as clock stopped at 140mph) on one of my private runways....________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Once you get to 145mph, fold down the rear seats and it's good for another 8-10mph. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |

The speedo on standard tyres starts to massively over read once you get past about 60-70.I also wouldn't say that a Sat Nav is a particularly accurate method of measuring top speed either, They don't have the most accurate GPS recievers, and depending on how many satellites it could see theres no guarantee that was accurate either. Cosmic Spanner has a performance monitoring box which is supposed to be pretty accurate at measuring this sort of stuff using GPS. I certainly think anyone who reckons they've hit 150 MPH on a stock engine is dreaming ________________________________________ GaryCherry Red GTi 6 |

what makes you so sure of that? if they pull peak power RPM which is normally around 6800, on 195 55 15's, they'll see an actual 150 mph, regardless of what is says on the speedo (146 for P1 cars with their lower F/D)________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

fletch wrote: gazzerdaman wrote: I certainly think anyone who reckons they've hit 150 MPH on a stock engine is dreaming I think its only Stan who said that, oh and some guy in a BMW Nah the classic Wampy arguement about 140 being the max was because someone apparantly hit 150 in a stock motor IIRC quote: what makes you so sure of that? if they pull peak power RPM which is normally around 6800, on 195 55 15's, they'll see an actual 150 mph, regardless of what is says on the speedo (146 for P1 cars with their lower F/D) What about the aerodynamic characteristics of the 306 ? I have no doubt that the supercharged cars can hit 150, but you would it expect it given the extra 70+ ~ BHP ________________________________________ GaryCherry Red GTi 6 |
