Pugsport pistons are made by Omega, just with some extra added to the price tag.________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Hi all, I am looking to build a maxi ish or semi kit spec 306 for rallying, something possibly along the lines of the 1995 Peugeot UK works car driven by Martin Rowe. I know this wasn't a maxi but it only lacked the wide track. I recently contacted a guy, who shall remain nameless, regarding the forged bottom end, and have since found out by looking at the threads this is an on going saga. When the right questions were asked his story didn't seem to hold up. You dont get anything for nothing in this world. I was prepared to travel to Southampton to view the motor and requested that the sump be removed to check the rods and pistons. The spec changed over the few conversations, and the request to remove the sump was denied, I am quite well qualified to remove and replace the sump, so alarm bells rung and I left it there. I advise anyone who wishes to buy something special along these lines to ask for ample verification, builders contact details, receipts etc.Unfortunately this got my juices going and I have started looking at pricing a pukka bottom end. If anyone is looking for the same sort of spec engine please pm me, as I am sure a discount can be arranged for a multiple sale. Just for a start the correct forged pistons and con rods can be bought for little more than this forged bottom end was advertised for. These are not Chinese and are manufactured in the UK. Anyway enough of my ramblings. ________________________________________ E reg 205GTI non sunroof maybe for sale m.o.t'd ideal rally, trackday car, also have 6 engine and box available |
