Well I seem to have a new problem with my car, a 306 XSi 2.0 16V Phase 2.
I have so far replaced the following:

Battery, ECU, Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, Idle Control Valve, Spark Plugs, Engine Mounts, MAP Sensor and Coolant Temperature Sensor.

I still have a lambda sensor to replace but mine has seized itself to the exhaust manifold so taking to garage to get it done.

The problem I

Is that the ignition coil?

Car has been fine for last 3 days, this happens quite regularly. Car will make me think it's all over and then will start doing for days on end until I do another ECU reset which will hopefully see me through another few days.

If it was the coil pack, would it be that intermittent?

if its on then off thats wierd!

have you checked the plugs to see if there all working?

if not go get a diagnostics if that helps?

Well I have changed the MAP sensor and no problems since. I just didn't want to hold my breathe until it does it again.

Why would a faulty MAP sensor cause that? I'm not even sure what it does! lol

lol I know, if this doesn't fix it I really am out of ideas.

Will let you know how it gets on. Cars been ok for 3 days but it's usually a friday afternoon when the roads near my work are the busiest that it will happen, always as I'm driving over a junction too, end up sitting there like a duck, trying to inch car forward enough to get through it :/

it certainly sounds like a faulty map sensor. if it does it again though i would get some one to run a diagnostic and see what error codes the ecu throws up. also id check for air leaks.
