hi there lads, i was enquiring yesterday to a place here in ireland thats an outlet for superchips about a remap on the 306, they contacted superchips and rang me back and told me the remap would give me 15-16 bhp from standard, improved power curve, better torque from low revs and depending on how i drive it, better fuel economy.........now i cant see a remap giving a car with standard cams 15 bhp, but even if it gave 5-10 bhp and a better drivability id go for it, what im wondering is has anyone here had their car remapped with superchips or anywhere else and what did they think of the gains??________________________________________ IF YOU CAN READ THIS IM STILL IN 5TH!!! |

Mine was mapped by Wayne Schofield in Rochdale who is widely regarded as the man to do it (well, in the North anyway) I had it done to cure a stalling problem (injector timing was out) and also had some Kent Cams PT80s put in at the same time. The Exhaust cam on these is virtually same as standard but the inlet is a bit more Lary, car (with standard exhaust inc. cat and a K&N) made 180bhp on his rollers. The Torque curve was much improved over the stanadrd figure and the band where it was useable was widened considerably. I know thats not much relevvance to the superchips thing but thought it might give you an idea ![]() John ________________________________________ Almost standard 1999 Bianca RallyeHilux InvincibleX daily 306 No.13 ![]() Carp and specialist Anglers Click here |

That was a full day on the rollers, dialing the cams in and uploading various bits of software onto the ecu to get the best balance between Torque and power. nearly 30 runs in total as i remember and nearly half a tank of V-power ![]() ________________________________________ Almost standard 1999 Bianca RallyeHilux InvincibleX daily 306 No.13 ![]() Carp and specialist Anglers Click here |

so would you not think its worth doing then?? well the way i was thinking if it gave even between 5 and 10 bhp and also had better drivability and if i drive easy better fuel consumption wouldnt it be ok??________________________________________ IF YOU CAN READ THIS IM STILL IN 5TH!!! |

Don't bother, it won't do anything useful. What you should do is advance both cams slightly to give you a better spread of torque over the rev range. You can gain a good 10lbft of genuine torque doing it. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Unlikely, what it does do is give you more torque and lower down the rev range too. When you first get in it you'll think its slower cos its smoother, but it won't be. Have a search on here as there are a few figures floating about.________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

ive had a search butcant find much theres one but the lad says it would have to be on a r/r while doing it, is there a certain name i should search under? also what if did adjust cam timing and then get e remap would that be any better no?? oh one more thing, would a lightened crank pulley make much difference on its own without lightened flywheel??________________________________________ IF YOU CAN READ THIS IM STILL IN 5TH!!! |
