Wondered if anyone can shed any light on this for me. Trying to do the gearbox mount as I reckon its seen better days, and shifting is a bit stiff sometimes aswell. So thought ill do the cheapest easiest fix first . . . LOL

Took things apart, got to the plate under the battery tray. Now i know theres 4 bolts holding it down but i can't get to the two nearest the body for the bloody ABS lines been directly above them. Tried lifting them up to get a swan neck spanner over them but it can't get a proper grip of them Dry If i try pulling them away theres little give in them, reckon i could get the one nearest the bulkhead at a push but no chance on the other one, and im scared of snapping a line as i could do without that LOL

Pic's . . .

And pulling them out as far as i dare . . .

Experiance's/idea's Dunno

Cheers, Tom

Had this problem when I did Mat (oecken's) mount. We just used an open ended spanner coming from the battery tray side of the brake lines and took our time. Couldnt get much purchase on it so could only get 1/8th of a turn at a time. Helps if you pull the brake lines the opposite way to the pic you posted

Hope that makes sense

theres 2 nuts holding the abs unit on , undo them and you will have enough movement to undo , or just pull them like a man, they will be fine just dont let pipes kink which wont be difficult to do.

Exactly what i did last weekend. Worked for me. You will still feel like your putting strain on the pipes because in effect you are but you should be allright, of corse doing this is at your own risk lol.

I think the FAQ should be ammended somewhat.

Ha! We were too scared to pull on the brake lines too much so we fiddled around coming in from the side.

Or just jam a socket between them LOL

Aye, they could have run them more to the side to allow better access surely?

Some designs are just daft
