after refitting a engine into a mates 6 with new clutch kit it wont select reverse with the engine running and takes a bit of effort to go into forward gears when stationary,fine when moving though?

seems to me like the cable needs tightening but being auto adjust it isnt possible? any ideas?

did you change the cable?

odds are if not then its adjusted for the old clutch wear

no we didnt as he said the cable was just changed before be bought it. about 5k ago, recon its the cable then?

well they do have an adjuster that tightens to account for wear which will adjust down for a worn clutch so its possible.

cool thanks,theres nothing else it can really be so will give it a go. not the easiest of jobs from what i can see
